GIS PLANET 2005 is the GI event that simultaneously offers a global perspective and discusses future trends, within an independent framework, open to the involvement of many organizations and seeking for the participation of the worldwide community. GIS PLANET 2005 aims to discuss the application of research concepts as a support for the development of a geographic information society, integrating the different perspectives of the academy, industry, government, users and citizens as a contribution for the construction of a global sustainable world. GIS PLANET 2005 is designed as an integrated platform to feature many related events into a common organizational framework, suitable to accommodate specialized meetings and relevant special interest groups or entities, creating synergies to offer a large set of benefits to all participants.
